What You See: WHAT YOU SEE OPENING NIGHT

Brazilian trans twin sisters and theater duo Irmãs Brasil open What You See with the Dutch premiere of Eunuchs—a visceral performance that reflects on transition technologies, gender performance, and the history of castration practices.
As wild horses, mermaids, and nymphs, they journey through time and space, subjecting their bodies to a ritual of death and resurrection. With bold intensity, they invite the audience into the struggles and desires of their flesh. Eunuchs celebrates collectivity while embracing the risks of a visible existence.
The evening extends beyond the performance, with an opening program exploring the individual in relation to the collective—featuring a living exhibition by Robin Nimanong, The Trans Yearbook by Tengbeh Kamara, moves from the Utrecht Ballroom Scene, and more.
