VOICES IN THE AFTERGLOW

Curated by literary artist Sunni Lamin Barrow, Voices in the Afterglow explores the threshold where language dissolves and only the afterglow remains: the traces and echoes that linger when words disappear.

On this night, we measure the meaning in the silence between words. We ruminate on what happens when language abandons us and search for expressions that rise when words are no longer enough.

Drawing on queer, diasporic, and uprooted experiences, artists Jana Jacuka, Sydney Lowell, Zacquel Phipps and Yara Hussein weave together spoken word, music, and movement—giving a voice to what resists translation and what can emerge in its absence.
