In the midst of our busy lives, opinions and screens, there is one thing that never gets old: a good story. Come together in Soula's living room to listen to personal stories and beautiful music and let yourself be touched by them.
During Soula's Storytelling Nights, people come together to listen to stories that are true, imagined, mythological or somewhere in between. Stories that are funny, painful, thrilling, touching, or utterly unbelievable. Stories that take us to other countries, other lives, and sometimes surprisingly close to our own.
Each evening is built around a different theme, which challenges storytellers to explore their own experiences, memories, and imagination. From hope and shame to music, miscommunication, and masculinity: each time, this results in a colourful mix of voices and perspectives. Accompanied by the beautiful music of house band Reversed.
On stage, experienced storytellers share the space with new voices. And the audience can become part of the evening too. Anyone who wishes can put their name in a hat. At the end of the night, two names are drawn, and those selected are invited to tell their story. No paper, just the story, spoken from the heart.

Steven Morgan’s life often feels like a playlist set to shuffle. Growing up in the impoverished town of Bridgend, South Wales, his path eventually took him to Australia before settling in The Netherlands. While his career in IT pays the bills, his true calling has always been the worlds of music, improvisational theatre, and performance arts.
Audiences are drawn to Steven’s stories because he has a rare knack for finding the warmth, humour, and absurdity in life's unpredictable moments. He brings the sharp timing of a comedian, the attentive empathy of a seasoned improviser, and the observant ear of a musician to every tale.
Rian Evers from Utrecht is a troubadour, songwriter, composer, singer, and musician. For more than ten years, she has been writing songs, composing music, and performing. Now she performs with other musicians under the name Reversed and is working on their first project, a double debut EP called Headstrong.
"Soula’s living room was once again a warm, cozy place where people dared to tell personal things to complete strangers. The benches were filled to the last spot. Tea, coffee and baklava. Especially the stories from countries where there is little room to be yourself made an impression on me. Soula’s summary at the end was both moving and hilarious."
