The lasting housing crisis drives many to madness. We cram ourselves into broom closets of 7 m2, pay through the nose, and accept our half bathrooms, as we are terrified of ending up in the purgatory of house hunting. Four dancers find their way through their space: sliding, shifting, climbing and squeezing themselves between the crooked walls and stacked furniture. How do they relate to the spot they call 'home'? How can they make their own space livable? An acrobatic dance performance about the struggles within the current housing market, but also a celebration of creativity and resilience within this system.

In ‘RUIM’, MAMM explores how they can create a world of discomfort and restlessness, but also of inventiveness and creativity. Throughout the performance, the dancers recreate their own space, and the concept of home is bent and distorted. They hang from a lamp, move piles of furniture, fall into moving boxes, jump on the bed, slide between loose walls, and flip over sofas. They relate to each other and learn to give and take space. But once all the dust has settled, the question remains: what makes a home a home, and what are you willing to give up for it?
