Raging Against Various Elements is a loud, dark, flashy and ecstatic performance, bursting with a lust for life. With this multidisciplinary performance, we challenge everyone to collectively push the envelope. Because even if we don't have control over anything else, we do have autonomy over ourselves.
With six professional ravers, Connor shows how grief, pain, love, pleasure, dance and death expose the fire of life and how it burns on the dance floor. According to Connor, with dance you can create an environment that helps process, practice, explore and release that which we have no control over.

Raging Against Various Elements is een coproductie van ARK/ Connor Schumacher en Dansateliers Partner: Grand Theatre Groningen
Connor Schumacher is een choreograaf uit Rotterdam. Hij begon met dansen aan het Purchase College Conservatory of Dance in New York. Sinds 2013 is hij in Nederland gevestigd en ontwikkelt hij zich onder de vleugels van Dansateliers. Hier maakte hij o.a. Boy oh Boy (2013), Boy oh Boy 2: God’s first creature (2014), The Fool (2015) en OK Future (2017) i.s.m. Lucy Suggate. In 2015-2017 nam hij deel aan het Europese project Dancing museums en presenteerde hij werk in o.a. The Louvre, Parijs, The National Gallery in Londen en Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam. In die tijd presenteerde hij zijn werk in Utrecht in het Moving Futures festival. In 2019 won hij de Prijs van de Nederlandse Dansdagen en in 2022 was hij een van de vijf genomineerden voor de Giekses Strijbis Podiumprijs.
Connor Schumacher wil met zijn werk mensen in beweging brengen. Onder de vlag van zijn eigen stichting ARK, opgericht in 2020, krijgt Connor's brede praktijk vorm met verschillende voorstellingen waarbij de diepe connectie met het publiek leidend is. Het is zijn diepe overtuiging dat onze maatschappij beter af zou zijn wanneer we elke dag zouden dansen.
