Processing and healing in a digital world
How can a virtual world create space for remembrance, processing and healing? Plum Road Tea Dream combines theatre, gaming and ritual to explore how digital worlds can become safe, healing spaces. Two performers immerse themselves in a video game and together discover the intimate emotional and experiential world of the main character, S, who opens the door to personal conversations between the players.
The game world was designed by creator and performer Samuel Baidoo as a space for new mourning rituals, for preserving memories, and for reflection from the perspective of their identity as a person of colour and a queer artis
Winner of the 2026 Designers’ Award at the Dutch Theatre Festival and selected for TheaterFestival Vlaanderen 2026.
