Welcome to What You See Festival 2026! On this opening night, you will see no fewer than two performances.
In Serenata Lesbica, Sara Leghissa and Taquitojocoque transform song lyrics from Latin America into a poster campaign. Poster after poster reveals a collective, political and romantic message. A serenade has never been this political!
Next, Just van Bommel and Emma van den Elshout build a content driven dance party with TRANS-. Expect 30 bouncing minutes filled with live-mixed music, sharp and penetrating texts and dry humour. A performance in which everything constantly changes and remains in motion.
And there is much more to experience on this evening! From exhibitions to spoken word to a welcome toast. Want to take a moment to retreat? You can do so in The Waiting Room.
Both performances are in English
What You See Festival is the performance festival about gender and identity. Here you'll find dance, theater, workshops, and exhibitions from artists from both home and abroad.
With the theme If Not Now, When?! we reflect with the audience on the present time. What You See brings together diverse perspectives and makes space for unheard voices and unique art experiences.
"Pompende beats en pijnlijke vragen in rood licht. Met TRANS- ontleden Just van Bommel en Emma van den Elshout identiteit op de dansvloer."
