As a child, your biggest fear is to lose your parents. At a young age this becomes reality for Amira. With the loss of her parents, she also lost her sense of belonging and feeling of safety. Nadia is the name of the mother whom Amira lost at a young age. In her solo performance Nadia, Amira looks back at the past hoping to define the future.

In the creating process of the solo, Amira researched her past in search for answers. She spoke to old contacts such as police officers, but also her sisters who she did not speak to for over 18 years. A confronting, and healing process. This performance shows the tension and the layers of emotions in the different phases of grief. A fight with emotions, but it also displays someone who does not want to fight again and just want to be a kid again. Hopeful, safe, and secured.
