There is drama, no matter the "degree" of the abuse, even when it seems light, ordinary. Its indelible marks survive and the victim's life is forever changed. Even for those who didn't directly experience it, there is this constant obligation to resist, yet, they shouldn't be confronted with this pressure.
Where is the tipping point? We have seen recently again how important this topic is. Dancers & choreographers Youri and Marie take you through a party, drifting apart and resisting each other's resistance.

Youri Peters and Marie Khatib Shahidi are two new dance makers, based in Utrecht, who aim to create works that strongly communicate. They see the stage as the place to dialogue with the audience. Their previous duo Morning, Mourning, about the refusal to let go, has received the Jury Prize at Café Theater Festival Utrecht and the Maas Theater en Dans Prize and the Codarts Prize at the Rotterdam International Duet Choreographic Competition.
Besides their work as choreographers, they dance together and apart in pieces from the Utrecht dance company De Dansers: Shake Shake Shake, Hold Your Horses, Hotelhierwaadaar, Hush, Lepeltje Lepeltje, Binnenbeest. They've also worked, among others, for Jasper Van Luijk, Staatstheater Kassel, Companhia Instavel, Compagnie Arkétip and Compagnie Karine Saporta.
