BECOMING Trans & Loved

Welcome to BECOMING Trans & Loved: the third edition of the series in Utrecht! This evening offers a loving counterbalance to the increasing violation of transgender rights worldwide.
During this evening we show resilience and show resistance, by telling powerful stories and strengthening the community. While society continues to seek conflict with the trans body, by interfering with the rights and freedom of movement - where can they pee, can they have children, what is in their passport, and can they change their body - during this event the focus is on love and empowerment. This evening is an activist, emotional rollercoaster ride where all kinds of non-mainstream stories share the stage. Expect music, storytelling, documentary film, depth and a warm feeling of collectivity.
BECOMING is a fluid bubble full of depth. Each edition is unique and offers a new queer perspective on identity and sexuality. Spectators and artists immerse themselves together in intimacy, party, sensuality, dialogue, art and glitter! At BECOMING, more is better, vulnerability is strength, party is depth and everyone is queer!
In Theater Kikker we present four editions: A Rainbow Family, Decolonized, Trans & Loved and A Ball.
Line-up: the complete line-up will be released on March the 6th, 2026. For an overview of all BECOMING events this year visit www.blacksilk.online/becoming
Language: BECOMING is always a mix of English (80%) and Dutch (20%), and also non-linguistic elements and vibes. The event will be presented in simple English. Some of our performances might be in Dutch. If you don’t speak Dutch please join anyway, you will still be able to follow enough of it!
